Meditation
This section adapted from Meditate.com.au.
Meditation can provide great benefits for survivors of child abuse as meditation has been shown to cause many benefits. The following are a few which are particularly pertinent:
Dramatic increases in the production of a whole variety of beneficial brain chemicals, including pleasure-causing endorphins.
The release and falling away of dysfunctional mental and emotional patterns (such as anger, fear, anxiety, sadness, substance abuse etc.)
Increased learning ability, enhanced creativity, greater intuition, improved focus and concentration - and increased personal self-awareness.
Dramatically lower stress levels and increases your ability to deal with the challenges of life, calmly and clearly. You become more relaxed, less anxious, more centred, more peaceful, and more connected to others.
